Introduction
First of all, Sean introduces himself. Now for those fortunate enough to have heard Sean speak, you’ll know he’s a straight talking, decent, honest and very successful guy – an all-round great person to be learning from.
The Affiliate Marketing ebook Introduction looks at why you might consider becoming an Affiliate Marketer in the first place and what the opportunities are. Sean explains that you can start with or without your own website and looks at how much money you need to get started and how much you can make. He then looks at some of the things successful affiliate marketers have in common.
The introduction flows really well. It made me eager to keep reading and learn more.
Section One: Getting Started
Some fantastic info in this section of the Affiliate Marketing ebook. First, Sean talks about where you can find affiliate products to promote; in places like Clickbank, Commission Junction and Amazon Associates. The info is thorough and gives a step by step explanation. Next, Sean looks at the benefits of joining sites like these and considers how to choose products to promote. What are your interests? Do plenty of other people have similar interests? Think about your market as a whole.
Section one then looks at the importance of pricing. Is the product or service you are thinking about promoting worth the money? How does it affect your overall price strategy? Do your prices meet your customers’ expectations?
Finally, this section looks at what niche marketing is all about and the power of niche marketing for the affiliate marketer. I found this part particularly useful.
Section Two: How to Promote your Affiliate Products and Services
- Without a website
- With a website
- Via a blog
Without a Website
First of all, Sean looks at promoting your affiliate products without a website. Now don’t think for a minute that you wont be getting value for money here. There are more than 20 pages on this one topic alone. Sean covers link cloaking to protect your affiliate link; article directories; keywords and writing articles; creating a plan and an outstanding resource box; free classified sites and writing your classified advert.
Next, there’s a section on social networking sites, and how these sites can be the affiliate marketers best friend. Sites like Facebook, Twitter and My Space. Sean also talks about the importance of creating a profile. Don’t forget about bookmarking sites and adding tags.
Before I continue, don’t be put off if some of the words I’ve used on this page are not making complete sense to you – all is explained in the Affiliate Marketing ebook. You’ll be sounding like a computer geek in no time at all.
With a Website
Next, promoting your products with a website. First of all, Sean explains that you can promote your affiliate products via a free website, if you choose. He goes on to look at the pros and cons of having a free website as opposed to your own. Constructing a website and using text links are covered next, as well as giving away free reports or ebooks. Building a mailing list, using banners and other visual forms of advertising and building worthwhile content come next.
Via a Blog
Promoting your affiliate products via a blog is another huge section, well worth a couple of reads. Sean explains that you can get a free blog from an established blogging site, or launch your own and pay for your own domain name and hosting. Next, Sean covers how to construct a blog and how staying focused on your niche is important. Posting regularly is also talked about, as well as using keywords on all your posts.
You didn’t think that was it, did you? The info keeps coming. There’s a section on SEO techniques and how they can help you promote your links. You’ll learn about long tail keywords, HTML and things to avoid.
Section Three: What is Web 2.0?
Another great section here, packed with useful information. First, Sean defines just what Web 2.0 is and what it means for the affiliate marketer. Picking popular niches is covered next.
The next topic covers social networking sites. Sites like Squidoo, Facebook, Myspace, Blog Catalog and Ryze. Stacks of information here – in fact 30 pages worth!
Next, exploring social book marking sites. Sites like Delicious, Digg, Stumble Upon, Twitter, You Tube and Technorati. Then, how to use all of these to promote your affiliate products.
Are you starting to get excited about Sean’s Affiliate Marketing ebook yet? If you are you can check it out for yourself by clicking on the image at the bottom on this page.
Section Four: Keeping Things Fresh
Sean’s not finished yet. One more stage to go. He talks about the importance of updating frequently, getting friendly with search engines and making use of free online tools. Looking for new products is covered next, then checking for optimized results and creating a mailing list.
Conclusion – Glossary -Resources, Bonuses and Blogs
These last three sections are priceless and show just how much time and effort Sean has put into creating this Affiliate Marketing e-book. Of course, I’m not going to tell you what the bonuses are. You’ll have to get the ebook for yourself to discover that – I’m not giving everything away!
