So what is Affiliate Marketing?
So you don’t have a product or service of your own to sell on the web. Well, don’t think for one minute that this excludes you from joining the hundreds of thousands of people making money from selling on line. You see, you don’t have to have your own product or service. You can promote and sell other people’s – and get paid for it. This type of internet selling is called Affiliate Marketing.
Why would somebody do that?
You might be wondering, why would somebody go to the trouble of creating a product, then allow somebody else to profit from its sale. Well, think about just about any item on supermarket shelves today. If the creators of any one of these products had insisted on only selling their product themselves, rather than allowing the multitude of supermarkets to help do the selling for them, their products would never reach the masses – customers in many areas wouldn’t even know their products exist. Yes, the supermarket makes a profit on the sale, but so does the creator of the product. It’s a win win situation. It’s no different with Affiliate Marketing. The creator of a product allows other people to on-sell that product via the internet and both parties make money in the process. It’s as simple as that.
So what types of product are we talking about?
Hey, I haven’t got all day – and that’s how long I’d be here if I was to start writing up a list. It would be fair to say that opportunities to promote other people’s products exist in almost every product area – from A to Z. Books, DVD’s, Household goods, jewelry, mortgages and loans, toys…
What about shipping the product and customer support?
I’m glad you asked that. That’s another great thing about Affiliate Marketing. In most cases, you don’t ship the product – the creator does. And customer support? They do that too. Like I said, it’s simple stuff.
Where do you find products to on-sell?

But how do I promote products on the internet?
Another great question. There are many ways to do this. You can promote products via a free website, your own website, a free blog, your own blog, via free article sites, via social media marketing such as My Space, Facebook, Twitter, Digg (another long list I’m afraid, so I’ll leave it at that).
